Kyrgyzstan Ak-Suu Traverse

Introduction

Kyrgyzstan, located in the heart of Central Asia, offers some of the most spectacular, untouched mountain landscapes in the world. The Tien Shan range, with its sweeping alpine meadows, glacial lakes, and high mountain passes, provides an ideal setting for immersive trekking. The region around Karakol, including the Ala-Kul Lake and the Am-Suu Valley, is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, vibrant nomadic culture, and quiet trails.

WHY THIS TREK

The Am-Suu Traverse offers a rare blend of high-altitude trekking, traditional yurt stays, and the warm hospitality of Kyrgyz communities, all supported by local horse teams. This unique journey is perfect for those seeking a culturally rich and physically rewarding adventure. Guided by an International Mountain Leader, participants can enjoy a safe, well-structured, and deeply immersive experience in a remote region still largely undiscovered by UK adventure travellers.
